Leslie's AccuBlue Home® takes the guesswork out of testing your pool water and makes maintaining a clean, safe, and beautiful pool easier than ever. Whether you're a new pool owner or a seasoned DIY pro, knowing how to properly use the AccuBlue Home device is essential for getting an accurate water chemistry analysis every time. In this article, we'll guide you through the basic dos and don'ts of using your device, so you can test and maintain your pool water with confidence.

Do these things with your AccuBlue Home digital water testing device

Do:

  • Handle the disks on the edges or sides only
  • Hold the syringe vertically when inserting your water sample into the disk
  • Place the disk on a clean, dry surface before adding the pool water sample
  • Use the test disk within 10 minutes of filling the disk with water
  • Empty the syringe completely and allow it to dry after each use
  • Remove the disk from the testing device after running the test
  • Wipe any water off the device after use
  • Only use testing disks from Leslie's
  • Reseal the disk pouch after each use to preserve remaining disks
  • Store your disks in your home at room temperature
  • Order a new syringe if it won't remain standing in the test disk on its own

Don't do these things with your AccuBlue Home digital water testing device

Don't:

  • Reuse test disks
  • Touch the top or bottom of the test disk
  • Set the disk down in an area where it can be contaminated with debris or moisture
  • Allow air bubbles to enter the test disk
  • Reuse old water left over in the syringe from the previous water test
  • Use other test disks from other brands
  • Keep the disk pouch open for long periods of time
  • Expose your disks to extreme temperatures
  • Fill the test disk while it is in the device
  • Fill the test disk while holding it in your hand
  • Underfill the test disk
  • Use the device if there is water in the light chamber or disk holder
  • Use the syringe if it won't remain standing in the test disk on its own — this can introduce air bubbles to your water sample
