More Info — pH Adjusters

pH Adjusters

pH level is how acidic or how alkaline the water in the pool is. It’s important to maintain balanced pH, which helps with sanitizer efficiency, longevity, and the overall swimming comfort of the pool water.

Lower pH in a Pool or Spa

The lower the pH level is in your water, the more acidic it becomes. This will cause chlorine to deplete more quickly and promote corrosion of the pool equipment or etching of the interior pool surface. Leslie’s Soda Ash is sodium carbonate for pools, which raises or increases the pH level in swimming pools.

Raise pH in a Pool or Spa

If the pH is high in the pool water, it will be alkaline which severely reduces the effectiveness of chlorine and may increase calcium scale on pool surfaces and equipment, along with eye and skin irritation. Leslie’s Dry Acid is a granular adjuster that is used to lower pH and Total Alkalinity in pools and spas. Dry Acid also helps maintain balanced chemical levels in the pool water.
